Know Your Soil Like Never Before
"Once upon a field, a farmer stood helpless watching crops fail despite all efforts. The problem wasn’t the seed, nor the water. It was the soil unseen, misunderstood, and untreated. Across India, farmers are facing this silent barrier: lack of real-time, Agrochemical literacy and ignorance toward Soil Microbial Health i.e. THE LIFE OF SOIL. That's where innovation meets tradition. Introducing Soilometer: an intuitive, science-backed soil health analysis kit that empowers farmers to know their production land like never before.’ Biome Technologies is proud to introduce the Soilometer Kit, our state‑of‑the‑art solution designed to help farmers assess soil vitality with precision and ease. Engineered to deliver rapid, reliable results directly in the field, Soilometer empowers growers with essential microbial health analysis enabling healthier crops, reduced input costs, and sustainable yield improvements."
Soil microbial health refers to the activity and diversity of beneficial microorganisms in the soil that are crucial for nutrient cycling, plant growth, and disease resistance. According to the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), over 95% of our food relies directly or indirectly on healthy soils. Research by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) highlights that soils rich in microbial biomass show 20–30% better nutrient efficiency and crop resilience. A study published in Nature (2023) found that microbial diversity enhances soil carbon storage, water retention, and reduces fertilizer dependency. Healthy microbial activity also supports organic and sustainable farming by reducing pathogens naturally. Thus, monitoring microbial health is essential for improving crop yield, soil sustainability, and reducing input costs in agriculture

Why Soil Microbial Health Matters
What is the Soilometer?
The Soilometer is a rapid, on-the-spot soil testing kit developed to transform agricultural decision-making. Compact, affordable, and farmer-friendly, it brings laboratory-level insight directly to the field. From small-holding farmers to agri-tech researchers, the Soilometer bridges the gap between the soil and success.
Research by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) highlights that soils rich in microbial biomass show 20–30% better nutrient efficiency and crop resilience.
- Soil Microbial Health.
- Suitability Test for Organic and Natural Farming.
- Quality Analysis of Biological Inputs, Reflects soil microbial health and activity.
- Tests the viability of biofertilizers and bio‑pesticides before use.
- Soil Health indicates whether the soil supports optimal plant growth and resilience.
Impact of Soilometer
The Soilometer empowers farmers by providing instant insights of soil microbial health into the life present in the soil, enabling data-driven decisions. This leads to optimized fertilizer use, increased yield, reduced environmental pollution, and sustainable farming practices. It minimizes dependency on external lab testing, making soil monitoring routine and farmer-controlled. For the environment, this means fewer chemical overdoses, improved organic practices, and healthier soils.
- Higher productivity with lower costs
- Healthier soils for future generations
- Sustainable agriculture that balances profit and planet
- Minimizes soil pollution from synthetic fertilizers
- By putting soil testing in farmers' hands, Soilometer transforms agriculture—one field at a time.
How Soilometer Works
Soil Testing Procedure
Collect Soil Sample
Take a representative sample of your soil (10-15g) from the crop root zone at a depth of 4-6 inches.
Prepare Solution
Take 6 ml of solution from tube 'A' and the entire solution from tube 'B'; add in tube 'C'.
Add Soil
Take one gram of soil from the field and put it in tube 'C'.
Mix Well
Mix the mixture thoroughly to ensure proper reaction.
Incubation
Keep the tube upright in the dark for three hours.

A Vision Behind Soilometer
Healthy Soil = Healthy Nation
Dr. Prafull Gadge is a renowned scientist-entrepreneur and consultant in Agricultural Biotechnology, recognized for his innovations in product development and sustainable agri-solutions. He is the inventor of the Soilometer Kit, a breakthrough tool for rapid soil microbial health assessment.
Soil health is the foundation of food security, yet it is being critically degraded due to excessive agrochemical use and lack of microbial life. We must assess not just soil nutrients but also soil microbial health, essential for nutrient cycling, plant immunity, and resilience to stress.
With consultancy provided to over 150 agrochemical companies, he pioneers strategies for eco-friendly crop productivity and plant protection. His vision highlights the urgent need to restore soil biodiversity through proper use of organic matter, biofertilizers, and biopesticides.
